Magnolia season at Swiss National Museum Zurich
In this series, we find ourselves amidst the verdant splendor of Platzspitz in Zürich, during the mid to late days of March. Here, we stand before the extension of the Swiss National Museum, a visionary project brought to life by Christ & Gantenbein, an esteemed architectural firm based in Basel.
Designed with meticulous care, the layout of the building seamlessly integrates with the historical park, respecting its existing trees and pathways. Several subtle architectural nuances, including knicks and a bridge-like structure, elegantly link the park to the newly created internal patio.
A particularly enchanting feature of this architectural marvel is the preservation of the preexisting Magnolias, which burst into full bloom each year, adding an extra layer of timeless beauty to the surrounding landscape.
Finding a balance between the two occupations has been a key aspect in the recent years. Both complementary interests have brought him to paying special attention to the details, as well as learning about the big picture and the concept behind each project.
