Serenade from the Andes

entry description
In the Andean mountains, two shepherds assist each other daily. Amidst their tasks, I discovered their presence through melodies echoing in the valley. Despite personal trials—one widowed, the other divorced—they find shared joy. One sings with her flock, the other aids. Amidst breathtaking scenery, their resilience shines, embodying humility and courage amidst adversity. Their story reflects the enduring bond of community in the face of hardship. Shepherds play a vital role in Andean communities, preserving traditions and fostering unity. Despite temptations to abandon their way of life for urban living, these resilient Andean communities persist, holding steadfast to their age-old traditions.about the photographer
