The eruption of Mount Semeru in East Java began on December 4, 2021, damaging at least 5000 homes. The villages of the Malang District were destroyed by hot ash and lava. People who survived the tragedy tried to rebuild their home within the shattered bricks.Life was miserable, supplies were transported from time to time by motorbikes. No matter how difficult the conditions here, the resilient villagers remain attached to this land they call home, determined to rebuild the infrastructure they once knew.
