Our heritage: garbage
According to predictions by scientists, the amount of waste produced will increase by 70% by 2050, reaching about 3.4 billion tons per year. The goal of my project is to draw people's attention to the waste problem, particularly the enormous amounts generated in every household every day.
Through this project, I ask myself: What do we leave behind besides waste?
I was born and raised in the north of Russia, but I have been living in Cologne, in Germany for 13 years.
In St. Petersburg I studied cultural studies and later in Cologne economics.
A month ago I quit my office job and started working as a full-time photographer
with the hope of making my dream true.

entry description
In the last 15 years, the amount of waste produced by a person in Germany has increased from 67 kg to 632 kg per year. Every day, humanity produces 3.5 million tons of waste, which amounts to about 2 billion tons per year. There is a high likelihood that this number will double by next year. This waste could fill a convoy of garbage trucks every day that is 5,000 km long.According to predictions by scientists, the amount of waste produced will increase by 70% by 2050, reaching about 3.4 billion tons per year. The goal of my project is to draw people's attention to the waste problem, particularly the enormous amounts generated in every household every day.
