This portrait of Rebecca was taken in August 2019. It is part of an analogue project I did from then to December 2022. The goal was to produce several monochrome prints without any digital technology, across different genres and under different lighting. The purpose was to experiment with the creative tools unique to analogue photography and teach myself about the processes. The project had to be stalled often due to Covid lockdowns, therefore it took till December 2022 to complete. Only then did I introduce digital technology, to create the image you see here.about the photographer
Daniel Taylor lives in Edinburgh and works as an Archive Producer on television documentaries. He was inspired to pursue photography after working as a Production Assistant on magazine editorials and catalogue shoots in the summer of 2014. During that time, he observed some true greats of the medium at work, such as Colette De Barros, Tom Craig and Fred Meylan. His photographic work has been used in a range of publications from The Radio Times to Amateur Photographer and the BBC website. Daniel is a member of The Edinburgh Photographic Society.back to gallery
