A view from the North Rim of the Grand Canyon: The contrast of the dark clouds above and the low light on the canyon in the foreground dramatically clash with the blue sky and more illuminated section of the canyon in the distance. Other significant aspects of this image are the flat horizon in the distance and the stratification of layers of rock, which remind the viewer of the massive scale and great age of the Grand Canyon.back to gallery
