Birds repeatedly appear in my work as an important motif. I never intend to capture them in the style of traditional wildlife photography. They are symbols of freedom, simply because they are closer to heaven than we are. Whether they are alone or together in groups, I see ourselves in them, with endless stories to tell.about the photographer
Zili Zhang is an internationally recognized photographer based in Greenwich, CT. Recently named Conceptual Photographer of the Year by Exposure One, he also received Gold from the 1839 Awards and ND Magazine.
