Nina Papiorek germany
title
Walled City
The buildings appear like endless chains and repetitions; my series aims to express the incredible fascination of this Walled City in an architecured based streetphotography style. The small, integrated people (and vehicles) stand alone, as a size scale and as insignificance in the urban jungle.
With a focus on architecture, graphic elements and line work, Nina’s images convey the impression of loneliness and being lost in the urban environment. A minimalist approach runs through all of her work like a common thread, which is underlined by the fact that she uses black and white without exception.
Nina is an multiple internationally award-winning photographer whose work has been featured in a large number of exhibitions and publications worldwide. She has contributed to several book projects and is the author of online photography courses.
Nina has been a part of “Soul of Street”, the german magazine for street photography, for several years is and co-founder of the Düsseldorf street collective “dorfcollective”.

entry description
In Hong Kong, six square meters means living space for one person, not parking. The city is known for extremely small apartments, such as "coffin apartments," in which people live in precarious conditions. The buildings appear like endless chains and repetitions; my series aims to express the incredible fascination of this Walled City in an architecured based streetphotography style. The small, integrated people (and vehicles) stand alone, as a size scale and as insignificance in the urban jungle.
