What struck me in Athens was the stark contrast between the grandeur of Ancient Greece and the characterless modern architecture. In this image, the Acropolis, bathed in artificial light, watches over the city below. Yet, despite their mundane, matchbox-like forms, the buildings echo the rhythm of the ancient ruins, finding an unexpected resonance across time.about the photographer
Zili Zhang is an internationally recognized photographer based in Greenwich, CT. Recently named Conceptual Photographer of the Year by Exposure One, he also received Gold from the 1839 Awards and ND Magazine.
