Ana Núñez Rodríguez is a research-based photographer living and working between Europe and Colombia. In her work, she delves into the politics of identity, connecting her own experience navigating between both cultural realities with other voices. She uses the image to start dialogues that reveal how colonial legacies influence our imaginaries and to question the impact of the collective memory and cultural heritage in the construction of the identity.
She studied Documentary Photography and Contemporary Creation at IDEP Barcelona, holds a postgraduate degree in Photography from the National University of Colombia and holds a Master's degree in Photography and Society from the Royal Academy of Art (KABK), in The Hague. She was part of Lighthouse 2020–21, a program for upcoming talents at Fotodok, Utrecht. In 2022 she was selected to join Futures Photography, a platform that promotes emerging photographers in Europe. Her work has been exhibited in collective exhibitions in different countries including the PhotoIreland Festival in Dublin, Circulation(s) Festival in Paris among others and individually at Foam Fotografiemuseum Amsterdam.
