title
Melancholia
humor)
it is not linked to a sense of anger, but rather a "sweet
oblivion. "
A slight hint of "sadness" that pervades the character,
making it deep and oriented to the peace and introspection.
Analyze ourself, explore our own mind:
try to know and recognize (at least a little more)
through our own images, through our emotions
unconsciously imprinted on the surface of a thin layer
of photosensitive material.
Like a mirror without time, a reflection of the soul,
here comes a sort of perpetual self-portrait.
Imagine through the eyes of others,
in complete empathy with photography itself and subjects.
The project is work-in-progress.
Analog photography.
Developed and Printed in my own darkroom.
The images are reproduction from darkroom prints & scanned film.
The love for photography and art in general comes relatively
late, at the age of 21 , but not without passion and enthusiasm.
He began his photographic journey riding the wave of digital
photography and then come to the famous and problematic
"artistic block. "
In search of answers and a way out, finally found a part of the
answer in the words of French philosopher Baudrillard who
said:
"[. . . ] The anxious acceleration that makes us want to record
everything and transform and rework images and information,
the thirst for information and the need to possess, registering,
reproducing, multiplying, every kind of experience. We do not
yet understand exactly where it will lead us.
[. . . ] Our transition civilizazion has many tools to learn and
communicate, but in the end, for the moment, we use them
among amazement and greed, with not full knowledge and not
yet clear purpose . "
From here the choice to take more "human" timing, leaving
those that can be defined "digital", from here the choice to start
shooting with film so assuming the calm to think, reflect, revise
his own thoughts, his own choices , to better analyze his "ego".
His photography is meditative and partially of research.
As in every artist who is "in progress", it is not yet clear what
he wants to tell, but it certainly the works reflect his personality
imbued with that "don't know what", stimulation of thoughts
and questions that basically we ask ourselves every day
without knowing it.
