entry description
A series of shots form the famous Dorset County Steam fair in England. The arid summer combined with thousands of steam rollers, vintage haulers, tractors, and military vehicles made for a truly epic sight as Dorset’s red brown dust was whipped high into the air. The multitude of steam, motor and horse-drawn vehicles was monumental, as was the vast Kraal of caravans which surrounded the show fields, where black-faced men hurled coal into furnaces at an alarming rate, and dusty youths hauled great trailers to prove their tractor was the fastest, strongest beast on the road. Travellers from all over the British Isles bring their extended families to this site every year to show off their machines, trade and drink.about the photographer
