I was born in, grew up in, and still live in Kolkata, India, former capital of British India, which has strong and long cultural heritage. I started my photographic journey at very early age but I could only hold a slr in 2010. Before then I mainly shot with an old film camera, which help me a lot to understand the basic of photography, presently I am working in 35 mm film slr and in digital slr format. My main focus in photography is to capture unusual landscapes and portraits which can express the internal spirit of a subject in a single frame, I strongly believe “a photo without a story is like a body without a soul” I am a self-taught photographer; I learn each and every single thing only by experimenting with my camera that gives me a lot of joy. Also almost everyday, I spend sometime just by watching the works of the master photographers from all over the world, honestly I learn a lot just by watching and analysing the works of other photographers. As a photographer, I am always interested in black and white landscape and portrait photography; I travel a lot, and every time I travel only to see and capture the world around us, for me photography is freedom.back to gallery
