I photographed this wave during a recent seastorm in Italy. It's an ongoing project which started in late 90's. In this location in the Liguria region, such giant waves are created during seastorms. The reason for their strange shapes is to be found in the sea bed, which rises abruptly here, combined with strong winds and a vertical cliff on the left which acts as a "reflector" making subsequent waves bounce one against the other.about the photographer
