Ghost cities
Those projects didn’t succeed; most of the people didn’t come as expected to those towns that are now known as “Ghost Cities”.
My work is about those empty places that became the illusion of an ideal city.
I used a pinhole camera to distort colors and shape, to twist the very landscape in order to render an illusion.

entry description
Ten years ago, China's government decided on a new urbanisation plan to accommodate millions of people from the countryside and to prevent environment disasters; they encouraged construction of “eco-cities" built on once-polluted or non-arable land. Those projects didn’t succeed; most of the people didn’t come as expected to those towns that are now known as “Ghost Cities”.
My work is about those empty places that became the illusion of an ideal city.
I used a pinhole camera to distort colors and shape, to twist the very landscape in order to render an illusion.
about the photographer
I’m a French photographer who creates projects to express the atmospheres, feelings, and sensations of desolate places. In my recent works, I sought to test the bounds of photography by challenging its ability to render an image of what is invisible to the eye by means of time and distortion. I’m using assembly, collage, super impression; processes that reinvent and twist the very landscape. I favor a pinhole camera to portray the unexpected, the fortuitous, and the deformed as a multiple reality.back to gallery
