With several awards in international Contests (see below), he has > than 40 photos accepted/selected in international photographic salons under the patronage of the "Federation Internationale de L'Art Photographique" (FIAP) and the Photographic Society of America (PSA). These salons cover more than 10 countries, including: Belgium, England, France, Hungary, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Turkey, United Stated of America, and Wales. Additionally, in the last two years he presented his work in more than 15 individual exhibitions, 5 group exhibition and several international books and magazines.

José Carlos Costa was born in August 1978 in Braga (Portugal). He holds a PhD in Chemical and Biological Engineering (University of Minho), and currently he is Senior Consultant at Innovayt. 2009 marked the beginning of his journey in photography as artistic expression, broadening horizons and exploring new techniques, such as long exposures, his current passion.
