Shodo
The art of japanese writing.
This series of pictures where taken in Bogotá, Colombia, with the intention of showing the Shodo Master, his commitment to the art and how he transmits the serenity but also the severity of it.
I wanted to isolate the Master, to focus on him, more than what surrounds him or what he was writing, everybody who knows the shodo art knows the beauty of it, but I wanted to show the person behind this beautiful art.
More than 25 years ago I held my first camera, the magic was immediate, new ways of seeing the world appeared before me, shadows, lights, colors that normally I couldn’t see were now so clear, They were just there, I just had to take them out of their hiding place.
From then a camera is always with me, it is part of who I am, part of what I see and feel, and helps me to tell everything that my words can’t do…
Over the past 15 years I have traveled and told stories in different countries, I have photographed and filmed many dreams and hopes, but there are still many stories to tell.

about the photographer
I always thought that the photographs should not be just pictures on a wall or a photo album, they should tell stories, a different story for each person who saw them with no need for someone else to tell you what you should see.More than 25 years ago I held my first camera, the magic was immediate, new ways of seeing the world appeared before me, shadows, lights, colors that normally I couldn’t see were now so clear, They were just there, I just had to take them out of their hiding place.
