entry description
An abstract street portrait from one of my projects on the city of Calcutta and the people who render it timeless. This image and the blank gaze of the aged man evokes several emotions in the mind -for some it could be a mystery , and ,for some a mere blank face drawn from abstraction.Often, there is more than what meets the eye. This portrait shrouded in darkness resembles a sketch of a worn out man ,bemused and benighted.I have always been fond of the mystery that life throws at us -a sense of chaos in the calm. This is what makes life different for each one of us and all the more challenging .This abstract face of the old man is just a portrayal of the different zones that we have around us in ways of seeing at life and the faces we encounter .There is a popular adage which says that a man has different faces in his life ,both figuratively and literally. This reminds us of the very same.about the photographer
