These are macro photographs of the surface of a soap film. The shapes are formed by the movement of soap fluid and the colors are formed by a phenomenon known as interference. Lightwaves interact with each other to produce the colors which are only visible at a few angles. At other angles the exact same spot that is photographed would appear completely transparent. Both the shapes and colors last for a very short time and are constantly changing.back to gallery
