For most of my life I have been a touring musician, recording artist and educator specializing in the art of Bluegrass Fiddle. Additionally I have been obsessed with the art of photography starting as a young teenager, spending ecstatic hours in my bathroom/darkroom and I’ve never lost interest, fully embracing the digital revolution. My 4 primary musical goals have always been expression, innovation, technique and composition. In applying exactly these same 4 intentions to my photography I found that musical and photographic composition are quite the same, both depend entirely on the artistic placement of available or sometimes imaginary elements. The creation of both music and photography starts before using the instrument, both start with seeing. It is my hope that my unique perspective and personal history allows me to be considered as an emerging artist, someday worthy of wider attention.
