entry description
This photo was taken in Big Sur, Ca in October of 2016. I wanted to try to capture the Milky Way one last time that year, and convinced my friend to come along with me on the 4 hour drive. I'm so happy that he did because he helped create one of my favorite photos. I had him stand near the water at the beach with his head lamp on to illuminate the rocks. Then I held the shutter on to capture the Milky Way. It was a little difficult shooting that night because it was so windy. Sand was flying everywhere and my tripod even fell over at one point. Luckily I was able to get this shot that night. Once I saw it I knew all the trouble was worth it. When I showed my friend he said it reminded him of Jacob's Ladder in the Bible. I wonder if Jacob felt the same amazement as we did looking at a galaxy that stretched all the way to the heavens. Great reminder of how God's love is so vast and so wide that at times it leaves me in awe.about the photographer
Jed's passion started in high school where took a photography class and had to borrow his uncles camera. It was a course in black and white photography that taught him the basics and how to develop prints in the dark room. However it wasn't until seven years later that he finally bought his first dslr for dental school. While it was a requirement to take intra oral photos of his patients, Jed was excited to finally have a camera of his own to pursue his passion. Today he works as an Associate Dentist in Visalia, Ca., but he spends his free moments exploring and photographing the world around. He hope to inspire others and to share God's beauty and love through his photographs.back to gallery
