title
Study of seascape at sunset
In the first image, named "Convergence", the sun enlightens the cove just before disappearing behind the lowest gap of the rocks, brightening the organic and the mineral elements.
In the second image, named "Ephemeral", the last seconds of light projected by the setting sun are painting the sky, the clouds and the sea with the strongest shades of color, emphasizing at the same time the harsh shapes of the rocks.
In the third image, named "Complementarity", the sun has set and the twilight brings the complementary elements closer one another: the golden light meets the blue sky, painting the clouds with shades of pink-violet. At the same time, the changed wind, which now blows from the land, has calmed down the waves and the still water embraced by the rocks becomes a mirror for them and the sky.
This series has been shot with a Pentax K-3, an ultra-wide angle Sigma 10-20mm f/3.5 lens, a Lee Big Stopper ND filter and a Lee graduated filter. Every scene has been captured with different exposure times, in order to recover the strongest lights and the darkest areas in post-processing.
Being a self-taught photographer, Claudio is driven by a creative curiosity which leads him to constantly experiment disparate techniques, both in the shooting and in the post processing stage: as a result, depending on the subject and the meaning that he aims to convey, he produces panoramas, vertoramas, long exposures, high dynamic range captures that are subsequently digitally developed with the utmost attention to details, using the most advanced retouching methods.
Claudio's approach to photography is a perseverant and passionate search of the beauty in its most meaningful form and a constant honing the methods to improve the artistry needed to accomplish it.
