entry description
Some of the wading birds found on coasts around the world are common in number. It was my hope to depict them in such ways, that we could see them with new eyes. The common can be most extraordinary, if depicted against the right stage-set. I wanted the birds to feature as dancers in an avian ballet, a shoreline production. Often, I tried to find neutral, dark backdrops to highlight their white feathers. At times, this meant to find them at dawn, when the light was dim enough where the birds were naturally highlighted.about the photographer
