Human organs - a different vision
paper for reading and not only, we use plastic bags, etc. Most of the time
we do not give the best follow up to this waste. Many end up at sea.
So, this series tries to address this problem. On the other hand, all this
affects the human being himself, in his health in general his organs.
I decided in a conceptual way to recreate some of the human organs
with plastic stoppers, packaging paper, cardboard, coffee capsules, etc.
In this case the heart, lungs, liver and stomach.
However, having a small digital camera, I started to acquire analog equipment and develop the photography learning activity in a self-taught way, using very old and medium format machines. My favorite camera is the Zeiss Ikon Nettar.
I have participated in many contest and teach photography for students in schools in portugal.
There are some awards:
2017 1st place in still life, at the Xposure festival, in Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates.
2018 and 2020 Portugal National Award at the Sony Awards and commended at the same contest.
2021, a series of my photographs that address the problem of plastic on the environment and food, is an integral part of the exhibition at the Xposure festival, in Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates.

about the photographer
My name is Antonio Bernardino Martins Coelho, I am from a small village in the north of Portugal, where I live. I am 40 years old, married and father of two girls. I work as an electrical engineer. A taste for painting was evident in me early on, but it was only in 2010 after a trip to Cuba that I became interested in photography, having captured a lot of images. However, having a small digital camera, I started to acquire analog equipment and develop the photography learning activity in a self-taught way, using very old and medium format machines.
