Inspired by Yves Klein’s great work leap into the void, I use blue as a strong color indicator to explore the nothingness of human’s existence. Sense perception is the only way we could perceive the external world, but it could be just subjective illusion controlled by our mind also. I have to doubt the existence of everything, but the only thing I could justify is that I exist. The isolation and solitude of skeptical existence lead to the huge leap into the void, into the deep blue.about the photographer
Wuchao Feng, born in 1998, is currently a Chinese art student of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She majors in Visual Communication and Photography, but her artworks also include installations, videos, and paintings as well. She's a mainly self-taught photographer since 2016 and strongly interested in portraits and fashion photography. Influenced by the conceptual art education in SAIC and her personal interest in philosophy, Wuchao aims to bring more conceptual and experimental elements to her fashion photography and use photography as a way to explore and express ideas of humanity. She is also one of the two curators of "THE GREATGREAT EXHIBITIONS" from 2015-2017, which is a series exhibition of experimental independent artworks open to young artists in Zhejiang China.back to gallery
