Sunday morning, before church

This was shot around 7:30 in the morning on a Sunday in June. My daughters and I were preparing for church and they were out in the garden waiting for me as I got ready. They were playing with beach balls and I asked them to pose for me, we had to hurry or we would be late. This was shot with natural light and is part of an ongoing body of work that focuses on my daughters and catches glimpses of childhood, adolescence and young adulthood.about the photographer
D’Arcy McGrath is an artist and photographer based in Seattle, Wa USA. She has been working with the medium of photography for the last ten years. D’Arcy is inspired by photographers from the fashion world as well as photographers from many other genres past and present. For the last decade, she has been working on an ongoing project that revolves around her two teenage daughters. She works primarily in black and white. Before coming to photography, she exhibited her paintings in both the Los Angeles area of California and in Seattle, Washington and holds a BA in Art and Anthropology from Pitzer College and attended The Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, Californiaback to gallery
