entry description
The Shark Bay peninsula is located at the most westerly point on the Australian continent and expands over an area of about 22,000 square kilometres (thats 5.4 million acres). It’s officially listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site due to it’s rich marine life, including the presence of stromatolites (colonies of microbial mats that form hard, dome-shaped sedimentary rock deposits which are said to be the oldest life forms on earth) and having one of the largest and most diverse seagrass beds in the world. Shark Bay’s waters are also known for possessing some of the most exceptional natural features. The vibrancy of colours and natural contours of the earth and sea fuse together to create some of the most captivating frames of nature.Shark Bay has remained one of Australia’s best kept secrets, adding tremendous value and certain exclusivity regarding the content of my work. All my photos are taken while flying aboard a Cessna 206 aeroplane.
