Cadiz Bridge
Sebastian Calatrava, apart from designing the amazing City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia is, in fact, best known for his bridge designs. One of the most spectacular being in Cadiz. There are a number of approach roads that allow you to get close to the bridge without having to risk life and limb while photographing it from a car while crossing. This was taken from one of those positions.
The challenge with capturing Cadiz bridge is all of the visual clutter that goes with being situated in a working port (boats, cranes, cargo). To create this image I had to spend many hours re-creating the bridge structure in sections which were hidden by all of the port detritus.
TECHNICAL INFORMATION
CAMERA AND LENS: Canon EOS 5D Mark III EF24-70mm f/2.8L SETTINGS: ƒ/20.0 35.0 mm 177 100 Cokin neutral density and graduated filters.
