This photograph was taken from a helicopter at 3,000 feet during the 2018 eruption of Kilauea volcano. It is a small section of the lava river that extended 7 1/2 miles towards the ocean. This photograph captures the lava river as it slices through Leilani Estates subdivision.about the photographer
Leslie, originally from southern Ohio, came to Honolulu (where she resides) in 2007. After coming to Hawaiʻi, her passion for photography expanded beyond the classroom where she became interested in fine art macro and aerial (via helicopter) photography.back to gallery
