Daniel Agra creates photography with a recognizable identity and strong investigative coherence, oriented toward transcending representation to explore perceptual experience: an intermediate space between photography, abstraction and visual poetry, generating new forms of perception and meaning. His work is relevant to contemporary photography, abstraction, expanded landscape, territorial memory and new approaches to the image. His international career and presence in institutional and private collections are not, however, his main value: that lies in the construction of a language of his own, a poetics of transformation. Working from fragments of the physical world, he creates open images in which visible matter acts as a trigger for an inner experience. Photography becomes a tool for investigating not only the reality that exists, but also what that reality can come to mean once it passes through subjectivity.

Abstraction in art and photography is the use of a visual language of color, shapes and lines, to create an image that can exist independently of the visual references in the real world. As the technology of photography, in parallel to trends in art, abstraction is part of the photographic language.
