entry description
Arte Xavega is an artisanal fishing made with net. The net is placed at sea by a boat. The fishermen encircle the fish, which is then pulled with tractors that are on the beach. It is a fishing that used to be regularly used in the beaches of Portugal, art that has diminished because of the burdens to which fishermen are subjected, who complain that not even fish can sell on the beach, have to take it to be sold in the auction. The effort of the fishermen is brutal not to get extinct this form of fishing in Portugal. This work was made in " Praia da Vieira ".
