honorable mention
Anders Jørgensen norway
title
«Most of the time we are somewhere else»
The picture title is a quotation from the book «Traces of the city». This sentence inspired me to make the picture series of abounded family cabins and residents in Finnmark, Norway.
When I read this sentence it gave toughs of all the abounded estates around, fully furnished an with a feeling of «we will soon return»
What made us never come back? And why did it never get used again?
The pictures is made in combinations with feeling of peeping thru windows with reflections of the arctic nature of the north, and other pictures is made from the inside with decay and sun bleached interior with an cloudiness view of the nature outside the windows.
The pictures contains an decayed melancholy and gives an feeling of cloudiness due the reflections in the glasses.
After growing up in northern part of Norway where trees are absent in the artic environment I startet to get facinated by the ”nature” in the city that apeers between concrete and architecture. Then I started my project "Urban nature". Lately I'm working on my newest projects that's combine decay and nature, called «Most of the time we are somewhere else»
