METROPOLIS SUNDAY
This work shows finds and traces of people living in the Greater Bangkok area. I lead the viewer to places where it seems that the city is resting. Most of the pictures were taken on holidays and Sundays and contrast with the vibrant everyday life of the metropolis. Contrary to the prejudice that big cities are loud, hectic and crowded with people, this foray takes us to places where the city takes a breather.
In another field of work I focus on the balancing act between photography and painting. As a hunter and collector, my archive is the starting point for these works. Various techniques from the photography and the painting are used for the works.
I was born in Switzerland in 1976. Already as a child, the camera and crayons were my favourite way to express myself. I graduated as an architect, later on I attended a self-taught photographer class and completed my photography studies at the Swiss school of journalism. I travelled Asia extensively and spent a lot of time exploring major cities. I mainly work on long term projects.

about the photographer
I am particularly interested in topics of public space. In my work I investigate the traces and habitats of modern civilization. The artefacts and found objects are characterized by the attitude of humans towards the environment. Further I am interested in the relationship between harmony and dissonance and chaos and order. In another field of work I focus on the balancing act between photography and painting.
