title
Diptych
In modern photography this artform is most oftenly used as a visual excercise that helps in finding shapes, colors, motifs and shots that are juxtaposed based on similiarity or obvious contradictions.
The stories told by these photographic pairs usually do not leave the viewer any space for interpretation because of a shallow and oversimplified use of the diptich artform.
I have decided to thoroughly explore the wide range of possibilities of juxtaposing two images in order to awaken the visual perception of the viewers mind.
By the use of previously mentioned features of the diptych I have created key anchor points for my works that indeed partially focus on the story, but most of all they focus on the emotional charge.
At first glance these photographs might be dismissed as being strictly documentary beacuse of how they have been shot and cropped. One might assume that they are what they are and any further analysis will lead to overinterpretation, but I believe that upon closer look it becomes clear that they are trying to secretly convey the authors filtered take on reality.
These scenes, portrayed this way, become a commentary to a world that is charged by a variety of emotions, oftenly, melancholy.
Therefor I would like to invite you, the viewer to indulge in the richness of refrences and critical analysis of our sourroundings in these unbreakable arrangments of two. I hope that under the sublime and ascetic forms shown through diptich you will find what is really important, awaken your curiosity and delve into critical anlysis which might leave you reflecting on how did these things and places reach their current state.
