entry description
This portrait is part of a series exploring the question 'what would Malcolm do?' if Malcolm X were alive in 2018/19. I was inspired to shoot this concept after pondering for way too long on the merit of a small screen telling us what to do and how to live as we walk mindlessly around the city with our necks arched, acknowledging posts on Instagram and not the humans in our surroundings. The headline in the newspaper is a nod to Gil Scott-Heron's The Revolution Will Not Be Televised.
