Carnival
Because of his disease I returned to my parental house, a period with lots of time to philosophize.
I returned to the land of my youth and forgotten memories took over. As a child we start wearing disguises, masks to protect and give our best presentation. It is only at the end that we undress and become our naked truth. Yet that pure part of our beloved is what we like to remember , as in loving memory.

This series was created at the deathbed of my dear father.Because of his disease I returned to my parental house, a period with lots of time to philosophize.
I returned to the land of my youth and forgotten memories took over. As a child we start wearing disguises, masks to protect and give our best presentation. It is only at the end that we undress and become our naked truth. Yet that pure part of our beloved is what we like to remember , as in loving memory.
about the photographer
Kaat Stieber is a fine art photographer who weaves the worlds of surrealism and noble Dutch art into her images. Mixing her broad set of creative skills with an internationally acclaimed background in theatre and costume design, her photos are assembled with vast craftmanship. Kaat's works of art resemble tableaus from the Dutch Golden Age, a rich realm of paintings and a constant source of identification. An admiration of surrealists adds to the scene.back to gallery
