entry description
This image was made using both a soft ND grad and a small ND filter to suggest movement int he misty cloud. Kilchurn Castle sits on Loch Awe and it looks particularly stunning during periods of bad weather when the clouds look menacing. This dawn promised much, with grey skies, rolling mist and plenty of foreground interest. Around 30 mins after the sun came up the sky started to clear in patches allowing the light to catch parts of the composition. Lee filters 1.2ND Grad soft and 0.9 ND Pro Glass. Canon 5DMkIV. Canon 16-35mm MkIII @ 16mm. ISO 100. 0.3 seconds. f14about the photographer
Chris Ceaser is an award winning photographer based at his gallery in York, U.K. For the last 15 years he has been building a powerful portfolio of landscape photography. Chris uses a traditional approach to photography, using grad filters and ND filters to control the light within an image with the aim of producing a virtually finished image 'in camera', certainly with regard to composition and the overall 'feel' of the image. He is an Ambassador for the Canson Infinity range of fine art papers and has been recognised in worldwide events such as the paris Photography Prize, The ND awards, the International Photography Awards and the British Photography Awards. Together with his gallery in York, Chris runs a series of photography workshops in the U.K. and Europe.back to gallery
