entry description
This is a part of the series that is a very critical comment to Polish way of thinking and living. A few years of an ultra-right populistic party regime opened Polish Pandora’s box and awaken mentality of former serfs, all the fears, nationalistic ideas, hate towards everything and everyone who is different. Here you have fulsome affection for traditions and religious symbols, drinking vodka under the ubiquitous crucifix, trashy colours, like those found on old photographs... Here you have people who are proud of their coarse and boorish nature. This is just a caricature. The pictures were post-processed intentionally in a showy, gimcrack manner just to show the nature of some part of the Polish society.about the photographer
