entry description
An oryx makes the trek to the ridge of a steep sand dune in the Namib Desert of Namibia. This is needed to catch the cool, moist air blowing in from the Atlantic Ocean. This moisture may be the only water for the day for the oryx and the cool air is needed to cool the blood so this animal will not overheat in the hot sun.about the photographer
