Splash of Color
Growing up minutes away from New York City, Jonathan has always been fascinated with the architecture the city has to offer. Dreaming of wanting to become an architect in grade school, it wasn’t until high school where he later discovered photography and the joy that it brought him. He finds himself drawn to minimalist designs in both interior and exterior settings, looking for ways to creatively showcase different buildings and spaces.

entry description
In my home state of New Jersey, it is very uncommon to see buildings with different colors as most of the buildings are neutral, bland colors (with the exception of buildings in beach towns). My series of photos explores the relationship of color with architecture. Taking inspiration from photographers like Saul Leiter, William Eggleston, and Joel Meyerowitz, I put most of my focus in search of bright color schemes similar to their color work. I took to the streets of Savannah in search of interesting architecture and eventually found myself wandering around the beach towns of Jacksonville.about the photographer
