Pearls
It was a windy, cold, cloudy, and wet November day. I walked along the riverbank searching for interesting details and found these leaves in a small backwater. I was fascinated with these perfectly sphere-shaped water drops on leaves. They were a little bit far from the riverbank, so I could not make an image while I was standing on the ground. So, I stepped into the water (I was wearing gumboots). Luckily water level was in 5-6 centimeters lower than gumboot top, but I had to be very careful and not making any bold moves to avoid scooping up full gumboot of cold water. I knew that such intimate scenes are often shoot looking directly into the "ground", so I started with such point of view. And it suited well for this scene. So, then I started to work with framing. I've made a series of shots and the final image I've chosen later, at home during the edit. The most challenging was standing crooked in the water dealing with shaking in this hand-held shot and reflections in the water. I haven't used a tripod (I don't even remember if I had it with me), but I used a circular polarizing filter. But since I used point-an-shot camera I just was holding a camera in one hand and a polarizing filter in another hand in front of a built-in lens, remembering that the image had to be sharp and in focus and also ISO should be kept as low as possible. That was funny.
In my work, I strive to convey the harmony and beauty of nature, as well as the feeling of calm, peace, and silence inside of me, when I am alone with nature.
I am fascinated with mountains, rocks, and stones. I feel the most inspired in such types of locations. But some woodlands and seascapes also could be found among my images. Balance, shapes, and textures take a significant place in my photography.
