The issue, of course, is that the rate at which icebergs are calved and then melt is occurring at an ever faster rate. These icebergs are 'living' testament to a changing world that we must preserve.

entry description
I was fortunate to travel to Greenland in the summer of 2019. The icebergs calve from a glacier near the town of Ilulissat which sits on Disko Bay. The bergs slowly melt in the bay, changing shape as they do; sometimes with loud thunder cracks as pieces fall and ice arches collapse. I was lucky that this iceberg had not yet collapsed and to me looked rather like a tiara. The issue, of course, is that the rate at which icebergs are calved and then melt is occurring at an ever faster rate. These icebergs are 'living' testament to a changing world that we must preserve.
about the photographer
I am an amateur but enthusiastic outdoor photographer. I am drawn to seascapes, minimalism and the otherworldly. I live in rural Wiltshire in the UK. Not near enough to the sea for my liking but I get my fix as often as possible. Sometimes I get to travel far and wide and this gives me extra opportunities to take my camera. Now more than ever, I find that composing and taking photographs is a way to find counterbalance and calm in my hectic life.back to gallery
