Queering Nature, Re-thinking Species

entry description
This collaborative project between Mona-Lisa Fiedler and I seeks to discover a potential queer future where humanity lives closer to nature. It sees beyond traditional notions of species and gender by breaking apart and resiting the figure back into the wilderness. Our project was taken in January 2020 at the Schweibenalp Center Of Unity, a spiritual community focusing on permaculture and rituals. We worked at the centre for eight months, developing a deep understanding of the surrounding mountains, lakes and caves. Our sustained and intimate explorations over time, and through the camera lens, shed light on our animalistic selves and gave birth to these fantastical hybrid creatures in symbiosis with their natural habitats.back to gallery
