US AND THEM
especially the dog.
Some shots were taken during Pet Therapy activities at the Spinal Unit Association (AUS) of the Niguarda Hospital in Milan. Pet Therapy does not represent a therapy in itself, but identifies itself as a subsidiary intervention that helps, strengthens, enriches and supports traditional therapies and can be used on patients of any age and affected by different pathologies; the aim is to improve the individual's quality of life and his state of health, while re-evaluating the human-animal relationship thanks to an empathic mechanism. The presence of an animal also allows, in many cases, to consolidate the emotional relationship also between human beings, favoring the patient-animal-doctor communication channel and stimulating an active participation of the subject itself.
This bridge of communication between the two species is evident even when the animal has a health problem: at the San Siro Veterinary Clinic in Milan, an attempt was made to create a frame that could convey the same emotion. The images focus exclusively on the animal and the context; human subjects are deliberately decentralized and not identifiable in respect of Privacy.

entry description
The incredible empathic ability of some human beings towards animals is not a one-way mood. Some animals manage to transmit, with their eyes, a temporary ethereal bond. The Us and Them project aims to stop this bridge of communication in one click in the most intimate moments and of mutual help between the two species, both when man benefits, and when the recipient is the animal, inespecially the dog.
