Pandemic
I am exploring the idea of space by both digitally building rooms in Adobe Photoshop, and physically, by using things like cardboard boxes to create a room. When constructing a room digital, I overlay textures to give the walls a more realistic(but still surreal) appearance. Once the space is complete, I insert human figures, which are typically, but not always self-portraits. These figures will express feelings associated with the pandemic. For example, my photos Separation 1 and Separation 2 that are included in my submission discusses the separation of loved ones, more specifically the separation of my partner and I. These figures are photographed on a Canon 5D MK III or in some cases, like Out of Reach, I used a scanner in addition to my camera. The images are currently composited using Photoshop on my MacBook Pro. The images have quite a surreal look to them, this speaks to the current state of the world.

entry description
For months we have been confined to our homes and we have no idea when we will be freed. We have been separated from our loved ones. Hugging has become a sign of selfishness when it was once a way to show someone you care. We can no longer go to school, or work, everything is online. Reading the news has become so conflicting and the rules of society change daily now. Completing basic errands like going to the grocery store is something to be feared. These precautions are necessary but that doesn't make it any easier. I am exploring these ideas and feeling in my series “Pandemic”.I am exploring the idea of space by both digitally building rooms in Adobe Photoshop, and physically, by using things like cardboard boxes to create a room. about the photographer
I am a digital artists and photographer. My main goal as an artist is to let people know that they are not alone in this world. My past topics have been in mental illness and sexual assault but currently my work is about Covid-19 and isolation. Necessary precautions are being taken to keep us all safe but it doesn't make it any easier. So many of us feel alone and isolated but we are not alone, not really.back to gallery
