La perrière t'Appartient
My work is composed by mainly portraits of people living in a street calls "Avenue de La Perrière". These people are living almost like a community in the city of Lorient. The main street of La Perrière is located in the fishing port. The walls and the people are suffused by a great history ( the early age of industrial fishing, WWII,...) and stories because some years ago the main street was only fulled by bars, restaurants and hostels. Custumers was only fishermen, workers and soldiers.
To be able to photograph these people I had to be one of them, so I have spend in abundance time with them, trying to make fishermen acquaintance and finnaly many of them became some of my friends.
Anders Petersen and Christer Strömholm ( swedish photography) inspired me, even if I began to shoot before to discover their works.
This work is only in Black and White because inside of these places there were very electrical lights and colors inside ( as example a bar made with red only), black and white was able to make an emsemble and a continuity.
I'm now a self-taugh photographer.
