Painted Movement
My process does not start and end with the camera. Before I photograph I do extensive styling, which includes hair, makeup and props. After I complete the photos I begin my editing process. This is where I put the most time in. I enjoy manipulating the photos and altering colors. In many photos I also use composites. These techniques allow me to create snapshots of stories you would not otherwise see in reality. When someone views my images, they should be inspired to dig into their own imaginations; to escape reality, if only for a moment.

entry description
A combination of light trails and dance, detailed with paint brush strokes. My love for painting and dance are what led to this series. I found that light trails do a wonderful job of enhancing the movement of dance. Prints were made, which then had glass placed on top of them. On the glass I added paint strokes to create the feeling of a painting, rather than a photograph alone.about the photographer
Imagine walking through a door, leaving all of reality's problems behind you, and entering into a world of stories; anything you can imagine, you can create. This is what photography offers me. From a young age I struggled with mental illness, and cinema and literature were my escape. I loved portraiture, but my illness made it difficult to meet new people. That was when I came across self portraiture. It allowed me to work comfortably, and have full control of the story I wanted to tell. I began combining my love for literature and cinema with photography to create something new. I found myself drawn to using bright colors, because they were the opposite of my reality. My process does not start and end with the camera.
