Still Standing
By day, I make my living in software development, so photography has always strictly been a creative outlet, and not necessarily something I've ever sought to do professionally. I love to travel, almost exclusively by car, because it's all about the journey to me, and I feel like schedules and deadlines hinder creativity. All of my road trips are either centered around photography, or done with photography in mind, even if the trip has a separate primary purpose.

entry description
I was going for a walk along a nearby lake recently. It was day ??? of the 2020 pandemic, and I needed some fresh air. During my walk, I noticed this lone dead tree in the lake. I couldn't tell you how long ago it likely died. Possibly several decades ago. There is something special about this particular tree, and others have clearly noticed this, too, as they have laid stepping stones in the water leading up to it. I was told that this tree is called "the dancing tree" by another local resident, and it has stood up against floods, high winds, intense thunderstorms, and possibly even a tornado or two.about the photographer
I was born and raised in Western Colorado, and have been residing in Lawrence, Kansas since 2001. My mother got me into photography when I was 17, and I've been at it ever since.By day, I make my living in software development, so photography has always strictly been a creative outlet, and not necessarily something I've ever sought to do professionally.
