The Lake
Guichard Lake, is a small mountain lake that I particularly appreciate for night photography sessions of stars and Milky Way. During my visit, the very changeable weather in the Alps came to interpose a thick layer of clouds in the middle of the night, obscuring the stars and thus putting an end to our shots.
But in the early morning the show was quite different!
Knowing this alpin lake very well, if knew exactly where to position myself to fit on the top tier of my image the sumptuous trilogy of the Arve summits. Playing with my polarizer in order to find the most just effect, I wanted to make the surface transparent and let the dark waters of the lake highlight the few colorful touches of aquatic plants on the bottom tier.
Come to the mountains to take pictures of stars, the weather had decided otherwise. But without despairing, rather than leaving, and after a night under the clouds, patience ended up being rewarded and the elements offered me an equally beautiful spectacle. The joy of feeling in the right place at the right time is the pleasure of the patient photographer.
In 1998 I graduated with a Master in Biology of Animal Populations and Ecosystems (Claude Bernard University Lyon I - France) and I have been studying photography at a private school near Lyon (France).
Photography is a wonderful tool who can connect people immediately with the subject, without words and without the constraints of language. It is a very universal tool that has the added benefit of staying very large engraved in the memory much more efficiently than any of speeches.
I work with magazines, scientists, museums and Nature Conservation NGO’s and I am Associate Fellow of the International League of Conservation Photographers (iLCP).

entry description
Seeming to float between sky and water, the Aiguilles d'Arve, mountain range of Haute Maurienne in the Alps, brings a somewhat unreal dimension to this beginning of the world atmosphere. Even the aquatic plants of Lake Guichard seem to come out of the dark primitive soup suggesting the beginning of life on Earth.Guichard Lake, is a small mountain lake that I particularly appreciate for night photography sessions of stars and Milky Way. about the photographer
I am a professional French wildlife and conservation photographer working on environmental and scientific projects. I am also an engaged conservationist with an insatiable curiosity for discovery and storytelling. I challenge myself to be both an artist and a scientist, both sensitive and rational at once. This blend reflects the spirit of my work.In 1998 I graduated with a Master in Biology of Animal Populations and Ecosystems (Claude Bernard University Lyon I - France) and I have been studying photography at a private school near Lyon (France).
