the glimpse
Once a year, the indigenous tribes of the Dani, Yali and Lani people begin a long and difficult journey to celebrate together in the impressive Baliem Valley. Their cultural celebrations last for several days. Beside performances of traditional dances and songs, the strongest and most experienced warriors of each tribe display their martial arts prowess with spears, bows, and arrows.
It is my vision to document emotions, convey stories and take the beholder on a journey. Image is story, message and emotion. I use light and color to convey a message, to create or deepen an impact, to tell a story. Some stories might reverberate with happiness, fun and energy; others might be sad or sobering. But whatever the story might be, I love to capture its beauty, essence and power with my camera.

about the photographer
I grew up in Austria with an innate passion for travels and adventure. During a social year in Zambia I fell in love with the art of photography, building up a distinct curiosity for foreign cultures and identities. Endowed with an eye for detail and a broad-minded approach, I have ever since evolved into a patient, creative chronicler of life and its volatile moments. It is my vision to document emotions, convey stories and take the beholder on a journey.
